It is a white sand beach representing the west coast of Taketomi Island, with shallow emerald blue waters. At low tide, a sandbar called "Phantom Island" appears, and the water is knee-deep and can be walked across. The waves are calm and it is known as the only swimmable beach in Taketomi Island.
After sightseeing the red tile village of Taketomi Island, you can visit the beach by renting a bicycle. If you check the low tide time when you visit, the walk to the phantom island is the best! Reading a book leisurely on the sandy beach, taking pictures of the sea view from the cape, or strolling along the beach to the west pier are also popular. Enjoying the scenery rather than swimming is recommended.
